We're in our second week here in Ponta Delgada. We've had a chance to take two amazing tours of parts of the island. First, we went to Furnas (where they cook a meal and also sweet corn in the hot springs) where we soaked in the hot springs and saw the bubbling, steaming remnants of the volcanoes. Next we went to the west end of the island to Sete Cidades (Seven Cities) where we observed the giant crater lakes from several viewing points and visited the town down in the crater. We also visited the Lagoa do Fogo (Fire lake), another crater lake in the center of the island. Stunning views all around.
We've also spent some time getting some veterinery services for Caramel to allow us to take her to Morocco at some point in the future. We may be here longer than planned to accomplish this.
