One of the first things we need to do before moving the boat to Eastport is to replace the shifter cable. It is difficult to shift between forward and reverse. Since this requires opening the binnacle, we will replace the throttle cable as well and provide maintenance service on the steering.

However, as often as not we are disappointed when we hire someone to do work. Probably, more than anything else, this person could have texted or called when he ran into difficulty. I've done this work before on Skylark, and Edson has pretty clear instructions (with picture) on how to go about this. Anyway, we had to take it apart and redo it before leaving Herrington Harbor. More work will be needed before it's complete.
