December 14, 2023 St. Simons Anchorage

Today we traveled through more low country and around to an anchorage near St. Simons Island. Our plan was to dinghy ashore here and hike around then find a restaurant for dinner. The winds decided otherwise. In 25-35 kt winds it took two attempts to get the anchor to hold and the wind has been howling around us ever since. Thankfully the anchor seems to be holding now and the winds should drop to the 15-20 kt range overnight. We're warm and fine inside the boat. We have a short trip to Brunswick tomorrow, where we will stay at a marina for several days.
