February 3, 2024 Marsh Harbor

Wrapped up Carson's week with a day of reef fishing. JR Albury picked us up and drove us across the big island to the southeast side of Great Abaco. His son, Charles, took us out through the mangroves to the open ocean on a beautiful, calm day. We saw sea turtles (currently over-populated in the area), harbor porpoises, and schools of tuna. We were fishing at depths of 120-200ft and we caught plenty of Strawberry Grouper, one large Dear Grouper (caught by the guide), and several Margates. We grilled Grouper fillets for dinner and we have plenty more in the freezer. PIcked up some Conch Salad - another staple here. Sad to have Carson leaving today. It's been a fun week.
