March 3, 2024 Governor's Harbour

We left Spanish Wells, a bit reluctantly but ready for the next adventure, and sailed to an anchorage near Current, Eleuthera. Checking out the Current Settlement was short and sweet as there are no businesses or services there. Just a quiet little village. March 1 we traveled to Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera through rolling and wavy seas with >20kt winds right on the nose that took their toll on all of us after eight hours.

Governor's Harbour is a bustling town with several stores, restaurants, and businesses. We took a walk to find Club Med, Eleuthera that was destroyed in 1999 by Hurricane Floyd and has been left to ruins since then. The bar and disco at nearby Cupid's Cay "shared" their music with the entire area from afternoon into the evening on Saturday. Da Perk coffee shop provided a great start to our Sunday with a welcoming and homey atmosphere and good food. A rainy afternoon will keep us on the boat while Myles bakes bread.
