The access panels enclosing the engine compartment required some repair. The surrounding frames were made of plywood that was water damaged.

Below is the access panel to the rear of the engine compartment.

This panel allows access from the port cockpit locker.

In both cases most the damaged plywood was removed and replaced solid lumber. Remaining plywood was treated with penetrating epoxy. Both areas were painted with an oil based paint.

Part of the cleanup involved removing the sound insulation. We found that the veneer extented into the compartment.
