December 9, 2023 Savannah, GA

We've enjoyed a few days hanging out in Savannah, GA, including some touring and some boat work. Today Myles installed a new depth speed temperature Airmer transducer to replace the one we had that wasn't working properly. It has bluetooth capability so we can track depth, speed, temp, heel & trim on a phone app.

We headed downtown in the afternoon to the iconic Forsythe Park = the location with the fountain and beautiful trees with the Spanish moss that are portrayed in photos and paintings as 'Savannah'. We also walked to the location of the park bench on which Forrest Gump sat with his box of chocolates and narrated the story of his life. It's been replaced with a larger concrete structure of a bench, but the location is still marked in tourist guides. We went back to River Street to purchase two more photos by the same photographer to match the one we purchased a few days ago. Now we have a decorative 'art wall' on the boat.

Next we tried out two rooftop bars with views of the Savannah River. Crowds were building for a Christmas parade as evening approached. Nearly everyone was majorly decked out in holiday garb and headed to River Street. We opted to go back to the Marina, where we encountered another Christmas festival in Thunderbolt that prompted us to let our Lyft driver drop us off about 3/4 mile from our destination.
