December 31, 2023 Atlantic Ocean

We left Fernandina Beach yesterday around 10:30am and headed off shore to sail South. Once out of the channel we were able to sail and moved along at over 7 knots for quite a while. Things calmed a bit later in the day and overnight and we continued at about 5+ knots then 3+ knots early this morning. Time to turn on the motor and we've been motor-sailing so far today. We passed Cape Canaveral and could distantly see the launch sites - no launches today, unfortunately. We'll be celebrating New Year's Eve and Day on the boat - not sure who will be on watch at midnight. In the wee hours at about Lake Worth Inlet we'll turn to the east and head to the Little Bahama Bank.
